Morocco Earthquake Appeal

Provide essential aid to Morocco earthquake survivors

An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude shook Morocco on Friday 8th of September 2023, at 11 p.m. local time, followed by a magnitude 4.9 aftershock 19 minutes later. According to United States Geological Survey, the quake originated deep below the surface, at a depth of 18.5 km with its epicentre identified in the High Atlas Mountains, 71km south-west of the city of Marrakesh.

The earthquake, resulted in significant destruction and loss of life, particularly in remote mountain villages. Tragically, thousands of people lost their lives and many more were injured. The force of the earthquake split mountains, causing them to topple onto homes and destroy entire villages, straining families beyond their limits.
